Krisa, excuse my ditziness my dear.
I can't find many of you who have just joined. If you wouldn't mind look for Pamela Tinney, that would help but I'll keep looking.

Joyce Myriad labs will send a package with exactly what they want and it is done by their standards. Whomever you see to do the bloodraw, your Onc nurse? will just draw blood for the vials Myriad sends, they go back in the box with the paperwork properly signed and mailed off.
Then in well it was around 2 weeks for me I received a letter from Myriad with my information saying I had been tested and it told that I did have a specific mutation which will have some letters, numbers and brca 1+.
My sister received hers which told her she was negative. Your Oncologist will also receive this information and should be discussed with them as to how it would apply to your treatment.
I hope you get a negative!

That was going to be my next question -- which way do I want to be positive or negative. At first, I thought being a triple negative was a good thing, but then I found out otherwise -- that TNBC is the least type of breast cancer the researchers seem to know about.
I am really hoping and praying that "hereditary" isn't something my daughter and grandchildren have to worry about. I have 3 beautiful grandchildren. Matthew is 13 and the twins, Koy and Rayne, are 4.

Joyce,
If you are referring to the BRCA test, you want to hope for BRCA1 and BRCA2- ....negative. Being HER2 - is also a good thing....as HER2+ is a more agressive cancer.
If you have a family history of cancer...any type, and if you are BRCA- that family history trumps the BRCA gene mutation. There are women on this site who never knew they were TN, and are 7,10, 14, 19, 20 years from dx.
Lori tested negative. Lori has 2 daughters and 1 son, and it was her son who was more upset thinking that there was a possiblity that he could develop a hereditary cancer. He is a young man who always considers the consequences. We have 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, and that was real concern for Lori and all of us.

Hi Pam
I'm suffering from chemo brain I e-mailed you and got you mixed up with Nancy. I always read both of your post's! You always find such good information. My Onc. followup care nurse reconmmended your site, I had already registered, joined about 5 months ago. But I thought it was nice
that she would refer me to you. My group of doctors etc. are with the NYOH.
I live in the Albany area and am on facebook. I saw someone else from Albany but now can't find her posting or name, I would like to locate her on facebook.
Anyone from the Albany or on facebook please e-mail me I would love to hear from you. PM me and I will send you my e-mail address for facebook

Hi Phoenix
That is great news that your nurse told you about this site! That means word is starting to get around and that is what we want, so cool.
I will be emailing you thanks. Also I would suggest you delete your email from your post because of spammers around. We don't want to show any more personal info than is necessary. Members can PM you to get your information.
Thanks,

Going through treatments now. We have two young children at home (6 and 4) and we are trying really hard to maintain some normalcy for them at home. I would love to network and get to know other young moms fighting this same battle.

Hi Ladies,
I too have joined facebook. But I have to say that I probabaly am not very much fun to play with.I told my husband that all the members that have asked me to be their friend are probably going to kick me off if I do not take the time to find the hidden eggs. For someone that does not have a clue as to what they are doing,I have to say that it takes a lot of time for me to even try to figure it out."He He".Maybe I am saved now, because Easter is over with.Do you think?
Never fear!! One day it is going to come to me as to what I need to do and I am going to become a whiz at it.To all you facebook ladies that have asked me to become your friend, please do not kick me off as your friend.I am just a little slow.
Love and Huggggsss to all.Billie

I don't know if this has already been said, but I think you can set up a group for TNBC facebook groupies. I set one up for all of my "Breast Friends" on facebook. Then you can have them all in one spot on your facebook. Let me know if you want me to set one up or if this has already been done. I didn't read through all of the posts. Julie
