Hi Elaine and it's so good to hear from you and hear how Mary is doing, thanks for checking in!
That is good they have given Mary something for anxiety. I can still remember being wheeled into the operation room last year crying.
Having loved ones with her before and after surgery will be a huge support, this is a rough surgery emotionally.
I don't know how I would have got thru it if my sister and her hubby had not flown in to stay a few days before and after. They were both a big support for me and she helped me for a few days after I got home.
I probably took a little longer to recover since I am older, I guess that is why and I did not do reconstruction.
My daughter had a single mast at diagnosis last year and then when her treatments were thru she had the other side removed and started her reconstruction. She did really well thru all of it and only took a couple of days to recover and was back again taking care of the kids, working and running errands. Nothing seems to keep her down.

So test the waters I guess after she has come home from surgery and see how she is doing and you will know if she needs to stay down and needs help around the house. Just being there with her will mean the most.
I sure hope all goes smoothly for Mary and please let us know she is doing.
