April must be a great month!  Terri and Dori's birthday is today.  My daughter  and my Dad's birthday is the 8th, and my birthday is the 14th!

My daughter was even named after my Dad, and he was the first to see her after she was born -- I had a C-Section, and he drove like a bat out of h*ll 40 miles to get to the hospital -- he came in and stopped 2 nurses trying to find out where I might be, and one of the nurses said to him, "well, this is her baby."  So he got to see Corrie first!  My Dad died of lung cancer in 1996.  He was in his 70s.  One of the things that he regretted was the fact that he wasn't going to see my grandson's (his great grandson's) first birthday.  He died November 17, and my grandson's birthday is December 11.  He adored Matthew.  In fact, he had a picture of him in his little baseball suit right next to the side of his hospital bed so he could see him all the time.  He always told me that that picture brought him so much joy.  Matthew was such an adorable baby, and he had (and still has) a smile that can make butter melt!

Anyway -- back on a happier note -- happy birthday you too, and I wish you both MANY, MANY healthy years!

Hi everone,

I have reported this to Admin, not sure if spam or not but want them to look at it.  It would be my suggestion you not look thru this link.

Sunris -- I just now read your posting, and boy, do I remember being where you are two years ago.... sitting here now with my hair back and my energy and my perspective,  I can only tell you that you will be sitting in my chair at the end of your treatment down the road...and you will be looking back at the treatment summer.... and distance will make it easier to deal with...
~~I just came back to my office following my first meeting with researchers at the University of MN.  I am officially part of a small pilot study of post-menopausal breast cancer survivors here looking at how weight loss affects the chemistry of cancer recurrence/or your chances for recurrence vis-a-vis inflammation levels in the body and amnt of melatonin.
I will be in either one of two groups:  A) weekly one hour consultations with a health coach for 14 weeks or B) Meals prepared for us daily (we eat only these) and wkly meeting with fitness trainer to meet weekly goals in the gym (gym membership provided)...and  three each:  bone density tests, blood draws, and 24-hr urine collections thruout the course of the study....fitness evaluations...ALL FREE... and bound to lower BMIs for those of us who gained weight after breast cancer treatment...  and need to find our exercise habit again...
~~ Day at a time, day at a time, Sunris -- you will be done soon... Dori

Dori, I am so glad I read about this study, realized it fit your situation, and suggested that you sign up.  It is so great that we have this forum and are able to support each other because of it.  I'll be anxious to hear about your experience with the study.
