My face was flushed all day. Las night was hell for me. The night after the steroid shot is the worst.   Another thing I noticed that eve since I got my port in I have been having sleep apnea. Like night every night but some night I gasp for air. My port is right above my heart on the left. The dr gave me ok to take Prilosec.   Not very hungry today.   I stayed in bed most of the beside night walks. 1 month down 3 to go my consult with my onco on Tuesday to go over my results this far.

My fever is bouncing is back again bouncng around again tonight. It got up to 101.1 on my thermometer. I dont know what to do anymore...my head is not hot.. I took a warm bath..maybe a little too warm...I am getting so frustrated. Why is this happening again? I am only 2 days post chemo. They gave me a rx for my yeast infection finally.I am drinking lotsof cold water now.

Yeah i always get the neulasta shot Denise. For some reason I had such a hard hard time last week when my WBC fell to 0. My dr said I can take tylenol which has helped out tons tonight as long as I am not having the chills or  anything and its just a mild fever. Its dropped down from 99-100 to 98 to high 97's. That and my yeast infection is making my mouth even more dry. I haven't gotten any mouth sores yet but I use a baby toothbruth and  do mugard if needed. I am learning my appetite is getting less and less with each chemo.. Thats okay I guess. I manage to enough and what I don't I take my multivitamins.

Is taxol worse or easier than AC ?

Hi.  I found the Taxol to be easier than the AC.  Didn't need any anti-nausea meds like with the AC.  The fatigue was less.  I did,  however, have an itchy rash that required a steroid pack after the first dose.  Then each week, I took Benadryl tablets for the first 3 or 4 days.  I got a chemo glow on my face on the day after my infusion.   Around week 8, my knuckles on both hands got red, alternating between pain and itch.  I am now four weeks past my last infusion, and my hands are almost back to normal.  Still some numbness and tingling.  Still some muscle aches and pains that make me feel older than I think I should feel!

Sraetz, DX 11/13/12 IDC,TNBC, Stage I, Grade 3, K1-67 97%, 1.6 cm, left mastectomy on 11/16/12, negative nodes, clear margins. Chemo: AC x 4, T x 12. Chemo finished on 5/28/13.

Tonight my hair is really starting to come out in light to moderate strands. Should I just go ahead and buzz it now..My scalp is really painful to even touch it. Is that normal right before it all falls out.I am just scared to but in a way I want to just get it over with so I can start accepting it.

I shaved my hair today. I couldn't stand the horror and feeling of feeling like my  hair was being pulled everytime I touched it. It was very painful. I have stubble now but that will fall off soon. I am happy I did it though. So much hair was starting to come out.

OH yeah...my dr palpated my tumor today and could not find any tumor at all or at least what she could feel..she was happy. They are lowering my dose from 60 to 50..not a big marker but in someways I am glad. Maybe it will ease up my s/e to a certain extent and won't land in the hospital

Tracy,

Yes your scalp will hurt and be tender right before the hair falls out. I shaved mine too when that happened. Over the next few days when you are in the shower, rub your scalp and most of the remaining hair will fall out. I had stubble everywhere in the shower. Better there than on my pillow!

Thanks Donna for the advice. I got some good scalp conditioner from the nice lady at the salon. I would personally rather be just bald.  My hair color is completely different and its the first time I had seen my real hair color in ages after they shaved it. I am going to rest on it tonight and take a nice shower tomorrow. Yeah, mine literally hurt to the point I just wanted the hair off. There is no more pain now and I actually feel much better now that much scalp is pain free now

For me, my hair started coming out day 15 after my first chemo.  The scalp pain/ache started a day or so before that.  It seemed to stop once the hair started coming out.

My period has been going on for 4 days now.   At what point do I call the nurse.     My head feels 100x better with no pain.   Just waiting for the stubble fall off.
