Helen,
It sounds like you have a plan. Sometimes sleeping on things helps our mind work through the issues and come up with a clear plan of action. Keep up with the persistence and keep calling every day until you are heard. Did they ever find out what happened to your BRCA results?

Denise,
No, not yet. I have my appointment with my onc next Wednesday. I'll get the results for sure then, unless they call me earlier. For some reason, I don't want to call and find out.

Happy, happy news, Mainy! So glad to hear it was clear.
Donna, I know exactly what you mean by not wanting to call! We all do!!! Still sending all those positive thoughts out for you.
Helen, please push for a breast MRI if possible. That's the gold test for anything a mammo or US might miss. Hoping nothing is there, as was suggested, but gosh, you sure do need peace of mind about this.
Hugs to all of you,
Linda

CAT scan clear! What an incredible relief. The CA15 3 is creeping up though but I'm going to enjoy the moment. Thanks for all the well wishes everyone.
Now, fingers crossed for Donna and a wagging finger to Helen's techies to get them more decisive! |

Well I visited my onc this morning and there was good news and bad? news. Everything looked fine except for a small indeterminate focus in the right anterior chest wall. It was about a 1.5 SUV uptake. My onc doesn't think it's anything serious, but we've scheduled an MRI for next Tuesday. The uptake matched the blood pool in the mediastinal area. It could be many things including a leaking implant (sure hope not). Nothing else showed anywhere in the body so I'm very happy about that. This indeterminate focus is a little confusing as to what it is, but I'm glad I'll be getting the MRI to let us know for sure.

Hi, Donna. If it is a leaking implant, I guess it is better to find out now. Otherwise, I am afraid you are in false positive land. Scan leads to worry and more scans leads to....

Donna:
Here's to a false positive!!! I do hope that the implant isn't leaking!!!
Glad you are getting the MRI, it will put things into perspective for ya!
You are lucky your physician is right on top of this with testing, etc.!

I'm going to color this one great news Donna, the MRI should give a specific detail which I'm sure is what you really want rather than no worries from even a great doctor.
Helen, what's going on with you, have you gotten anywhere with your results on the next step?

Mainy,
Thanks, I'm keeping my fingers (and toes) crossed. I'm hoping this is all just a false alarm. I'm very thankful my onc is on top of things and has ordered an MRI. We should know for sure next week. I hope to be putting the gown back on (an maybe the tiara)!
Helen,
Can you get an MRI scheduled for your lump? Did they ever find your BRCA results?

Update:
Yesterday, I have been in touch with the Geneticist here, she says she will contact the lab to find out what the hold up is. ???
Yesterday, I had my diagnostics put on CD to take for second opinion when I hear back from Genetics. Radiologist documented he could not see lump on U/S, but I could palpate it. Return in six months for f/u.
Tomorrow, I will call to see when I can get into Dr. Dent and go from there.
I have not heard back from my boss about return to work???
Only one step ahead - still waiting on Genetics.
Today, realizing that I am only one out of the millions who are trying to stay alive so the urgency is lessened but the need is still very imminent! Was so relieved to hear about Connie, it gave me some calmness....
My daughter is ready to roll when I am....
God Bless her and all of you,
Love h
