Oh Helen I just want to cuss reading your post! I have a couple of lumps which I call my mean spirited ones cause they are cysts but they are 'feelable' and I think they just like to torture me. I've got fingers and toes crossed for ya! And about those doctors who are shocked...yeah, well, welcome to our world!
Yes my blood pressure did come down after the 2nd nurse came in, who was with me all through the chemo times and she walked in, looked in and said ok, fess up, what are you holding in? Of course I burst into tears, 10 minutes later and some great straight talk from a great nurse and the BP started to come down, 160/70 and was actually down to normal by the time I got home.
Boom started Xeloda yesterday. She has lost 50 pounds, had terrible side effects from Gemzar and is still on the Avastin and the Zeloda. I talked our doc into giving her the lowered doseage but still expect a call sometime this in the next several weeks as she develops hand and foot syndrome. She refuses to do any of the nifty things to try and offset any side effects so I'm not very hopeful.
As a side note, I did take in copies of research and the doc was very interested in the 24 hour test and said he hadn't seen it and was interested enough to do some investigation.
Well ladies, are we going to have a Thursday thread for results? All for one and one for all here!

Helen,
I'll be thinking of you tomorrow. Wishing you good results - B9! Hope you get your BRCA results soon. I think you win the award for the longest time to get your BRCA results.
The PET scan went fine today. I thought I'd have to drink something, but instead they injected the radioactive stuff along with glucose into my vein. I had to wait a while, then they took me to the PET machine. The imaging process was slow and the room was very cold due to the machine. I felt like I couldn't warm up all day long. After the test, I went back to work. However, I felt funny much of the day. I think it was the not eating part and then the glucose injection. I just felt out of whack, like how you feel from the steroids after chemo. Now the wait for the results.
When the technician asked me why I was having the scan, I told him I had TNBC. As you probably imagine, I got the usual, "what is triple negative bc?" So I spent a little time educating him about TNBC.

Back at ya, Donna!
I really appreciate the support here on our site! Somehow knowing that others have our back makes a big difference with all these tests. I am getting nervous this am but then that is par for the course. I am not one for needles....
Thanks again, Donna and Mainy! Hugs, to both.....

Hi Girls! It is me again,
Well I just got in the door from the hospital and the radiation physician could not find the lump?? Therefore, did not have a biopsy! I felt the pain three times when he rolled over it but told me there was nothing there. (Why does it hurt?)
I felt fine with that until I got out of the department and realized that I did not ask to see the screen! I saw the first one and know right where it is. My social worker came up to go in with me but they would not allow her because the biopsy would be done under sterile conditions (not an or, just a room).... My daughter and I went for supper and tried to brainstorm what to do next. I will call the radiation department in the am to see if I can go in to view the results. Probably won't allow that but I will try anyway. Radiologist suggested that if I feel the lump getting bigger, (the lump he couldn't find) then call to have another ultrasound done and in the meantime, he will rebook me for a six month followup.
I am feeling very out there somewhere right now... My brains are tired, my body is doing flip flops and I am still tired what do I do now? Go back to work and pretend nothing is wrong and let nature take its course? So much relies on what the next step is. My insurance company is putting me back to work November 1st so I have less than 10 days to make some life altering changes.... I think I am venting but need some concrete decisions too.. Needing HUGS, Helen in NS

Hellen - I can imagine what you are going through. I had something kind of similar happen to me. I was getting ready for my first six month follow up and I felt a lump between my nipple and the incision area. I also had a nipple discharge. I was quite worried. My surgeon said it was probably a seroma, I thought "why now?" I had the mammo gram and it said, "probably, benign", I thought probably, well, that wasn't very comforting - so went to my radiation doc. and she had an ultrasound and aspiration done - I thought - OK. they've at least looked. Didn't hear anything and I thought no news is good news. Finally, I heard it was nothing but then thought what the heck is this lump - they feel it might be a ridge of tissue from where the excision was taken. I will be seen again in 3 or so months - of course, unless it starts to get bigger. Not really taking away my anxiety - but, oh, well, I have to BELIEVE that it is gone. I want to BELIEVE it is gone and time will tell. I wish you the best as I know how unsettling these things are. You aren't alone and please let us know the rest of the story. Take care - Mary< id="gwProxy" ="">< ="ifofjsCall==''jsCall;elsesetTimeout'jsCall',500;" id="jsProxy" ="">

Ah Helen, that just is awful. You know, don't you, what you have to do. Six months is a field day for TN and a hellish wait for you, you gotta go for it and raise your fist, unfortunately being ladylike in our world is just asking for issues. Besides, I'm thinking it will be extra fun to go for ice cream once you have had a look at that screen for yourself and feel 100% sure that there's nothing there. Ultra sounds have always been a good tool for me, maybe that's the way to go.
Whatever it takes warrior girl, put on your stompin boots! I swear it's moments like this that I could become an alcoholic in a heartbeat. Take care dear friend.

Helen:
Can you get a breast MRI where you are. That would surely pick up anything - if there really is something there. I hate that you can't just blow this all off and feel greatly relieved. I would feel exactly as you do. We are all behind you.

Best of luck and sending all my deepest wishes for clear scans to both of you. I think I must have missed this thread - as I had no idea you all were scheduled for these tests. My apologies for not being here sooner.

Oh Helen, how awful sweetie. To know something's there and not to be taken seriously. Can you ask for an MRI? If not, can you get another ultrasound in a couple months instead of 6 months? Six months is too long for Triple Negative BC.
Linda, Thanks. Now it's just the waiting game. . .

CAT scan clear! What an incredible relief. The CA15 3 is creeping up though but I'm going to enjoy the moment. Thanks for all the well wishes everyone.
Now, fingers crossed for Donna and a wagging finger to Helen's techies to get them more decisive!

Mainy! Congratulations! Way to GO!!!! Hooray!!! CLEAR!!! Music to my years
So happy for you girlfriend!! Enjoy each moment!!
Thanks for the boost!
I have brainstormed all night to think about what the next step will be:
I replayed all that the RD told me and "if it gets bigger come back for another ultrasound, if not I will see you in six months, which won't matter much with the outcome!" This jumped right out at me! What does he mean "if"- I think now that it was too small (1 cm) for him to manage a core biopsy, maybe that is why he told me this??? In any case, I want to view it for myself and/or get another opinion.
I asked my Lord and Saviour to guide me in the right direction and He led me to Sirach 16 v 22
"In all things ask for Wisdom!" I did!
I wrote to Steve and you gals for solid advice!
I left a voice message and initiated an urgent email to the Geneticist, she is out til Monday!
I called Dr. Dent's office, her sec is out til Monday! I will do this again on Monday!
I have an apt with my Social Worker on Tuesday and hopefully will get my CD of diagnostics at that time. As well, the CD with Ground Rounds will be ready at that time too. So hopefully, I will have some solid answers and some insights as to how they are dealing with this TNBC then.....
Thanks so much for the support and I have more than the finger wagging, my tongue is wagging now too! We must be advocates for ourselves even if that means they get tired of hearing from us!
Enjoy every moment you can get my friends!
