Zometa- how often

 I started zometa a month ago and wonder if any of you have it every month or every three months. I do not have mets, but the dr. said studies show that Zometa might prevent bone mets and local breast cancer reoccurance. I do have bone loss due to chemo, radiation and early menopause- at 39.

I asked the forum about Zometa because someone I know is in a trial with it. You are right that studies have shown a benefit of taking it is preventing mets of the bone or slowing down the progress of existing mets. It`s not approved for that use in the U.S. though.

Our Connie (cg) from Canada takes it.  I wanted to find out more about it myself for obvious reasons.

 

So your doc gave it to you for osteoporosis with the added benefits? What is the dosage?

 

Hopefully some of the other gals will chime in.

Thanks for asking about my daughter. She is still missing and we are praying she is safe and will be home soon. Her flyer is posted at missingkids.org and VCA.org as Jade Flores. Please forward it to as many people as possible. Hopefully someone will see it and contact the authorities.

 

I talked to the doctor before starting Zometa and he said some studies are showing some advantages of preventing reoccurance in Triple Negative BC, but it will certainly help my bones for now. We will wait and see.
