Hi James,
I'm newer to the site, only about a month and a half and I have not seen your name, though I think I have seen Andrea post. So welcome!!
I too have had several delays and am still waiting to start Chemo. I had a bilateral mastectomy Oct. 27th. My doctors are not concerned about the delays as they say it is pretty typical. My oncologist did his PhD on breast cancer and his first assignment was research on chemo treatments. He has been working with the now standard medications since they began to be standard and he told me that the delays I've had will not effect my outcome at this point. I will be 8 weeks post. op by the time I start.
I definately understand feeling anxious to get started, but you shouldn't worry that it will effect her negatively. I think it could be a good thing because it will give her more time to heal. Several of my friends started chemo before they were fully healed from surgery and they had some complications because of it. They are fine now, but it did make recovery more difficult.
I'm glad you felt comfortable asking for input!! I know this is very challanging for you as well. Please give Andrea our love and let her know she is being thought of and prayed for consistently and you too!! Please come back on ANYTIME!

And I hope you are able to enjoy the holiday season in a special way!
Love, Tracey
