I was dx tnbc 1-07 the FISH test showed 1% positive I am considered TNBC.  My onc put me on tamaxofin then this past Aug she told me I could stop taking it becuz she felt it may be doing nothing. Well I just had my 2 yr chk up on Wed and she told me to go back on it she wants to treat the 1%.  I do not want to go back on it due to the side effects.  Has anyone else had this issue?  I am treated at Dana Farber in Boston and I love my onc and I trust what she is sayiing but I just want to see what you girls have to say?

Hi Dotti.  I believe the FISH is used to test for the HER2 protein and a common tx for that is Herceptin.  Tamoxafin is a tx for estrogen and/or progesterone.

My lab results showed the tumor I had a 4% progesterone+ however we have not treated that way yet.

I advise you discuss your concerns w/your ONC since you do have a good relationship.  Let us know how it goes!

I looked back at the path report, sorry about that I was thinking it was the FISH test but is must be that one of the tumors tested 1% positive.  My onc feels strongly abt me taking it. So I am going to take it, but I do not feel it will make a big defference.
