Hi All,
I will be starting  a clinical trial next week with Taxol/Avastin/GDC.  I am Stage IV TNBC and would like to hit this cancer from as many angles as possible.  Spiritual, excercise, and diet as well as chemo.  There are so many different suggestions on diet and I am very confused as to what to do.  I know that I will need to maintain my strength but I'm not quite sure how to do that with eliminating so many food groups. ie. dairy, meat, grains. Alcohol and sugar is easy for me but the others will be more challenging.   Any suggestions on what folks are doing and if it is helping

thanks
Pat

Hi Pat,

I understand what you mean by wanting to approach your fight from every angle. In my own journey I found a book that was a really good start in that direction. Is called: "Anti-Cancer: A New Way of Life" by Dr. David Servan-Schreiber. I like it because it talks about the other angles in a very clear way yet everything he mentions is supported by research and therefore it has a great bibliography that you can use a start to dig further into any area of your interest.

The author does believe in the importance of following normal medical protocols and actually says that you should always be suspicious of any alternative therapy that tells you to stay away from the traditional medical approach to cancer treatment. Having said that, he also points to the many things that research on lifestyle changes is showing in regards to cancer prevention and management.

Best,

Natalia

Addendum:
Pat, this is not nutrition, diet related. Thought it better to repeat since you probably already know about
or been tested, then to chance your not having info on BRCA testing.   There is a link on BRCA testing:
