Hello everyone, i am new here, i am 47 and finished my treatment for grade 3 TNBC Oct 2011. I had the lump removed, 3 months of chemo and 20 sessions of radiotherapy. I had a gruelling time with the chemo and spent a total of 5 weeks living in my local hospital with such extreme side effects, and at one stage really thought i was going to die. I'm pleased to say that not everyone gets all these horrible side effects, i was just unlucky and was one of the 20% that gets every side effect going.

What i want to ask is this, where on earth can i find some pictures of inflammatory breast cancer, especially pictures of the peau d' Orange effect on the breast. I am suffering some symptoms similar to IBC, and i now have a strange patch on my boob, i would like to compare it to others with IBC but the only photo's i can find are ones where the ladies have extreme symptoms, i just want to see normal pictures.  if you know where i can find some please tell me.

Thanks

Honeybea.xx

Welcome Honeybea! Sorry you have to be here but glad you found us!
I have pasted a couple of sites that explain IBC and I do hope you don' thave this but if you even think you do, go to your physician and be referred to an IBC specialist.

Keep us posted and let us know how you are doing.  Oh are you from BC?

Cheers,
Helene in NS

Thank you Helene for you reply, I am in England and i live in a part of the country called Surrey, about half an hour from London, if that.

I clicked on the 2 links you kindly gave me, and the first one didnt work for me? The second one i have seen, but it does not show any pictures. I so would like to see pictures of IBC. I do go to see the dr again in a weeks time, so hopefully she will shed some light on what is going on with me, she did say she might do some biopsy's as well, which i am not looking forward to.

Many thanks for your help,

Honeybea

Hi Honeybea,

Maybe try these links for pictures:
http://forum.tnbcfoundation.org/inflammatory-breast-cancer_topic8337.html - http://forum.tnbcfoundation.org/inflammatory-breast-cancer_topic8337.html
and within that link is the pictures link of: http://www.ibcresearch.org/visual-symptoms-of-ibc/ - http://www.ibcresearch.org/visual-symptoms-of-ibc/

If these links don't work to bring up the pictures, post again......and we'll try again.

Continue to follow your intincts......you need to see a specialist who is an expert in Inflammatory
Breast Cancer as soon as possible for an evaluation/consult.......to find out if you do or do not have it.

***Please also see the replies/additional posts on the other forum you posted on:

There are good and important posts there.***

With caring thoughts,

Grateful for today.........Judy

Thank you all so very much, and also for pointing out i had other replies, because of  my chemo brain, i totally forgot i had posted on that page lol.
