Here is a link I found saying that first degree relatives who test negative for a BRCA 1/2 mutatation  are still 3 times at higher risk than the general population by the age of 50.
Interesting that in the UK they are considered same as the general population unless I read this wrong.  Wonder why there is a difference of opinion between countries?
This is exactly what my daughter's counselor told her yesterday that if she was negative she was considered in the general population for risk of bc here in US but I have never heard that before.
