I'm pretty scared about this as it has kept me stable for well over a year --anyone else have thoughts about eliminating thedrug for our use?

Lucy,
Are you talking about the FDA mtg. last Tues. about Avastin?
I'm in a trial with Avastin (double blind) and asked if they would
cancel the trial. I was told "no."  So don't know the future of it.
Good question, though.

Thanks Hummingbird10
Yes, that's my reference to Avastin.  I've been on it with Taxol, now on Avastin alone, NED and feeling very good.  I'm Stage IV and was hoping for the quality of life I've been enjoying for quite some time. That's good news for you -- I'm not sure what will happen with me -- See the Dr on the 30th

Dear 6sisters,
Are you on "Arm C" of the trial?  As long as your part of the "trial" they can't take it away is
what I've been told.  They should absolutely offer to keep patients on it who have had great
responses as well.  Please let's keep in touch and help each other in those matter.   I'll see
what further info my clinic has on this subject.
I think all of this happened here because of that British group that nixed Avastin over there.

Dear 6sisters,

Did you have nodes involved?
I did. They were removed at the same
time as the radical mastectomy.

Hummingbird10,
I had my original diagnosis in 2005 and was Stage !! I wanted a double mastectomy because of my family history  but the surgeon, radiation Dr and chemo Dr all convinced me that it wasn't necessary, in 07 I had a recurrence in the exact location of the surgery and radiation --did the double mastectomy and amnow at Stage III, in early 09 had a pt scan for followup and had mts to nodes on the left side and a small lung met, so now I'm at Stage iV.  I went on the Taxol/Avastin rout6ine for 12 series and then went on just Avastin -I've remained NED since that time, but this is darn scarey stuff, I've actually felt very wellsince being on just the Avastin

6sisters,
I hear 'ya.  This is sure crap.  Your regime sounds exactly like Arm C of the trial I'm on.  Of course
it's double blind so I don't know which "Arm" I'm on.
Idea:  I wonder what Roche the pharmaceutical is going to do now?  We need to find out more
information about this.  Wonder if Canada will be keeping it, or other countries (from what I read
before I know the U.k. won't be since they're the ones nixing it).

I'd like to get the transcript of that FDA meeting from Tues. July 20 (this was my first day of
chemo and the day that I knew the FDA might pull my trial Avastin---pretty unsettling day!!!!!!)
