Has anyone heard of this man and the clinic? I am researching now, and it seems he has had great success treating several types of cancer, especially TNBC. He is a medical doctor and a biochemist. He finally received FDA approval for his non-toxic treatments after a long battle. Supposedly he will be on Dateline sometime in June. Anyone who wants more information can email me direct. I cannot figure out how to send emails from my mailbox or forwared information I have received from former patients.

You can also do a web search for Dr. Burzynski or Burzynski Clinic. he also does research. He fees are quite expensive, and I had to check my insurance for "Out of Network Benefits."  But it is our life and if the treatment works, and doesn't limit my quality of life like the chemo drugs, then it is worth the money.

Hi Mary,
Please continue to research this therapy before you make your decisions, and make sure you're using reliable sources and not just testimonials.  As far as I know, he has FDA approval to conduct TRIALS, not FDA approval of his treatments, since there appears to be little to no factual evidence that his therapy works.  Please, please reconsider.

Here are a few links to get you started:

I wish you the best, whatever you decide!

No, I will not submit my records or go to him without more proof. My daughter is a research nurse, and she sent me the same Sloan Kettering link about him. She cautioned me also. I guess we all want to believe there is something more we can do. I am not on treatment now, and the tumor(s) are growing. I will start something soon. I appreciate your concern and information. Mary-Have you had an eval at MDAnderson?  I am staying in Houston.  I am here from north of Chicago.  I came or a second opinion and decided to stay because I felt like what they said made sense to me.  Since you are in Pearland, you could get their opinion.  I was diagnosed on May 27 and came to Anderson for a second opinion.  I would like to hear what you decide to do and your info on Burzinski.  grma

Yes, I went to MD Anderson, and I was not impressed. First, it took me over a month to get an appt; then they immediately sent me to Phase I clinic, and the doc said I was sent to the wrong Dr. I should have seen Dr. Moulder. He rescheduled me; they billed me anyway even though he didn't check me, give me any treatment or advice.
MD Anderson called when I was on my way to dentist; said I was scheduled to be there. I told them I had just been there a week ago, and she said it was her mistake. Next, they called again and wanted to reschedule the appt with Dr. Moulder. I had more scheduling problems. I liked Dr. Moulder, but she had nothing new for me. She did, however, give me a prescription for my cough and discuss a Phase II trial. I signed for the biopsy which is a prerequisite for this trial with the drug DASATANIB, which is nonchemo, but it has some nasty side-effects. I will most likely return to Dr. Frankie Holmes, breast cancer specialist who had worked at MD Anderson for over 15 years. Dr. Frankie Holmes is with Texas Oncologoy. She also works with Dr. Joyce O'Shaunassey. Dr. O'Shaunassey was the doctor who began the clinical trials with the Parp Inhibitor. I have been very pleased with the care and treatment at Texas Oncology. Dr. Frankie Holmes also does research. You can check her website. Let me know if you need a place to stay. I live about 5 minutes from the MD Anderson medical center. Email me and I'll give you my cell phone number. My email is mailto:mwall47@yahoo.com - mwall47@yahoo.com . I have an extra bedroom and have helped other women who need a place to stay.

Hi Mary,
Sorry you've had a frustrating time with MD Anderson.  I know you're on a chemo break now - does Dr. Holmes have a plan for you going forward?  Is she the one you'll be seeing for the Dasatanib trial?  It's great that your daughter is a research nurse since research seems to be the name of the game with BC!

Best of luck and let us know how you're doing!  Hopefully whoever you go to will help to get your symptoms under control.

Dr. Moulder at MD Anderson had the Dasatanib trial, and I just received word today that my biopsy was negative. Therefore, I won't be participating. Dr. Holmes, with Texas Oncology, has a Phase II trial that another person with Triple Negative is responding well to at this time. I will most likely get involved in that trial. I don't believe I will be going back to MD Anderson.
