First time I've seen it.  I went in there and I was all alone.  We could pick topics and times to be in there together.  Happy hour in the chat room - talking about.............why is my radiated boob still hot 7 months since I finished radiation?

I noticed the chat room. There was also a post saying it was up and running. I have visited several times and am always alone. I choose different times of day, different days etc. I have wondered if it is really not working or is it me & my computer.

I guess I don't know how to use the chat room. My screen shows a space for a name, I guess, and a box that says connect but I can't type anything in the space and nothing happens when I hit the connect button. Wha's up w/that? How do we use this new chat room?

A set day or time would be good.  Then we'd know if it works or not.  I too have checked it a couple of times but I was the only one on so I figured no one's using it.

I though chat rooms would be a noisy place but the couple of times I went there you could "hear a pin drop".

I just figures I'm too old to know how to use it.

Just wondering....

I think the chat room is a great idea.  I too have wandered in there only to be alone.  Earlier I saw there was one person in there so went in, it was Kelly but she didn't answer me. lol  Her name was black on the board so figured she really wasn't there.
It shows a number right beside the chatroom link to show if anyone is there.

We should use it, someone set up a time??  Maybe evening since many work?  We could set a chat time for early evening everyday and see if anyone shows up.  Anytime is good for me.  We don't want to loose this extra benefit to our forum.Heart

When I tried connecting to the chat room, I got a message on my computer regarding JAVA.  It said I needed to run an earlier version of Java and to click on "Run".  I did then it launched me into the chat room.  I had to enter my user name and click on connect.

Of course no one was in the chat room but me.  Boy was it lonely and I could hear the echos everywhere!

Cry Oh darn, I wish I was!

I am in Nova Scotia about 1500 miles away.  It would be so good to meet with the girls here on site.  If we could plan a vacation at the same time, wouldn't that be peachy!!!
Thought if you were somewhere close we could meet up.  It would take me 16 hours to get to you.Cry I could not drive that far and flying is too expensive... I wish they would change their pricing to be more affordable becasue within one hour I could be there.

Have a great visit to Markham and hopefully the weather will be good for you.
Take care, see ya in the chat room when you get back.

Hey ladies, how about we gather around after the next Thurs April 15 tele conference to discuss what was on. For those that can make it might be nice to chat while things are still fresh...and for those that didn't have the chance to participate, can go over stuff. I think I'll try and do it, I'm not positive I can make it as I may have to be waiting in the shop for a car part...

That sounds like a plan Mainy!

Ugh.. the car part... What is happening with the car?  There is always something to take our time but that is an important thing to do.  "Have wheels we'll travel."  That is what I used to say to my dear mom.  It will be three years  in June and I still miss her so much.  We did so much together.  We took short day trips to a park, set up the BBQ and make tea and eat in the outdoors...We had lots of good times so get that car part and don't worry about setting the time to meet, we will be here for the conference and we can mark questions and things down so our chemo brains won't forget.  How's that for planning?? Hugs.. Helen in NS

Yes Carol, I have a HP laptop and I love it!  It has all the capabilities I need and I use a lot of programs.  I have wireless built in so no need for all the wires, etc.  Once you try it you will never go back to a stand alone CPU/computer/table top, etc.  Just make sure you get Intel Pentium.  They are better than the knock offs.  Check Staples that is where I bought mine.  xoxox Helen in NS

Carol, after years of PCs, I went with a MacBook and have never looked back. Yes, there's a small learning curve but there are also few if any viruses. And I was ALWAYS getting them. The Mac even helps me with spelling without my asking. And I can scroll down on a page with just two fingers. I use a plug-in trackball as my main mouse but I'm always using the MacBook mouse automatically because it has such good features. Go to one of the large electronic stores and get a demo before you decide.

Love my Mac!
