I was diagnosed with tnbc on September 30, 2009. I am 28 years old and have two beautiful daughters, Brynn 2 years old and Jolee 6 months old. After I have Jolee I noticed that my left breast never shrank down to it's normal size. She was born in May and I mentioned it to my OBGYN in September when I went in because I was having back pain. I didn't think anything of it I thought it was a clogged milk duct. There is no cancer that runs in the family that I'm aware of. they told me it was cancer and that it was stage IV. It had spread to my liver and in my bones. I started Chemoterapy in Portland and I am on a clinical trial for the PARP inhibitor. I didn't get on the arm that gets the parp first but the chemo has already shrunk my breast tumor by 67%. I really don't know that much about TNBC and everytime I get online I get discouraged and depressed. I am trying to stay positive because I have so much to live for.

That is what you need to do and you are right that you have a lot to live for Brandy. I really do not know what I could say except that there is hope that you still could live a long life. For example a co-worker of mine's wife has stage 4 colon cancer and has successfully been fighting it for the last eight years.

But as you know once it is stage four that means the only thing that doctors can do is to keep the cancer at bay. It is possible that the new trial for the PARP inhibitor could be just what you need. Stay positive and and don't go on line so much especially if it makes you feel that way.

You can stay here and get uplifting messages of hope and make some new friends here. I live in Seattle and my wife had treatment at Swedish Cancer Institute. Again, you do have lots to live for and I wish you all the best.

Wife diagnosed 7/08 stage 2B 4.78cm with 3 nodes. 15 weeks of Adriamycin and Cytoxin, Mastectomy, 12 weeks of Taxol, and 6.5 weeks of radiation.

You are so right to stay positive. Your beautiful daughters need you so do everything to fight this disease. We are here to offer support any way we can. Have you been tested for the BRCA gene?
