Well I am so very sad as my 38 yr old daughter has also tested positive for the same brca 1 mutation that I tested positive for a month ago.
She is just getting ready for radiation treatments but when diagnosed
she was multi-focal, had a trip neg tumor and a estrogen postive tumor in the same breast.  She is handling it pretty well as she expected it to be positive but it breaks my heart.

Then my 20 yr old daughter after learning our news calls me this morning and has me set her up w/a genetic counselor so I'm again on pins and needles and saying lots of prayers.  She goes Thursday, I spoke w/the counselor and they will be drawing blood and sending it to Myriad.

I also have 2 sons who will have to be told and grandchildren, oh the worries,

Hi Pam -

I'm sorry to hear that your daughter is also BRCA1 positive.   I know that is hard ... try not to feel bad or guilty ... no one, you included, chooses this and your daughter know this ... If my Mom were alive, I know she would feel bad that she passed the BRCA1 gene onto me ...

With the 50-50 chance of the BRCA1 mutation being passed on, hopefully, your other daughter will be negative ...and your sons too, if they choose to be tested.

In terms of bc treatment and research, they've made so much progress in the last 5-10 years, that in the future, they'll have even more in the arsenal against bc and BRCA ...

Thank you so much for your support Calgal!
I do feel bad but I know it isn't really my fault.  Yes our mothers would have felt awful too.
Hugs,
