hi my fellow sisters. I am 43, single working mother, and was diagnosed on 9/11/08 with triple neg IDC, 2 nodes. All other scans clear no other mets. I'm mid way through 20 weeks of chemo. Survived 4 AC's and am into my 3rd of 12 Taxol treatments. AC was rough, but luckily finding taxol much easier. I feel almost normal. I'm also BRCA1+ - so following chemo i'll have bilateral mastectomy and ovary removal.

Initially my first oncologist did not recommend radiation following surgery...since i had fewer than 4 nodes. Wondering if anyone out there did radiation with fewer than 2 nodes and if so, what was the reasoning and outcome. My reconstructive plastic surgeon doesn't want me to do it (fears it will mess up the beautiful new breasts he's promising to build for me in March) but maybe i should consider rad b/c of the triple negative diagnosis. Any experience, thoughts, advice is more than welcome.

Also, with the triple negative diagnosis i'm feeling like the saddest girl at a party full of sad girls. Everyone cringes when i say i'm trip neg. I'm SICK of that reaction. Anyone have similar experience and a way to politely respond? My reaction is verging on rudeness...don't want to go there.
