My oncologist has prescribed A/C every 3 weeks because of my age - 65, but another onc I consult with at a more prestigious cancer center prescribes it to his patients every 2 weeks and says "65 isn't old." I like his thinking! Does anyone have experience with this? I'm confused.

I had ac every two weeks. Went to Sloan NYC.  No nodes...1.6 cm and I was 58, stage 1, diagnosed 12/17/17.  I like your doctor., 65 is not old! I also had 16 rads with four power blasts....total of 20.

It all was manageable.  I slept like crazy on AC, never got sick.  Then 12 weekly taxol and that was easy.  If I had my hair...no one would have known I was going through treatment.

Hope this helps.  🙏🏻

Yes, encouraging. I consider myself a young 65.

Hi Deborah,

"AC-T is usually given in eight treatments, once every 3 weeks. The first four treatments are AC, and the next four are  https://www.lbbc.org/words-know/paclitaxel" rel="nofollow - paclitaxel  (T). Sometimes the paclitaxel is given weekly at a lower  https://www.lbbc.org/words-know/dose" rel="nofollow - dose  instead of every 3 weeks. The whole course of AC-T treatment takes about 5 months.

AC-T is more commonly given on a dose-dense schedule of AC every 2 weeks for a total of four cycles, followed by T every 2 weeks for a total of four cycles."
