Maybe this question has been posted and answered before, and maybe there are no ranges that are "normal", but what do the CA27-29 markers range for normal - is the range from 1-100 or is it 10-20 or is it in the thousands?  I would like to hear from some of you what your last report was and how often you are tested.

Oh this is a easy one for me as I have been dealing with these markers for 10 yrs. Please dont let these drive you crazy. 0-12 is normal, no activity.Mine a month ago was 3800 when we discovered mets to the scalp. Now down to 2500.Ive seen tumor markers 10,000 in women just dignosed. My goal is 200.With mets there is always cancer somewhere so the numbers go up and down. Its just a guide for drs to know there is activity and how intense it is.Its also a guide for treatment.

It's all individual too.  For instance, CA 27-29 never changed and always remained in the normal area.  However CA 15-3 rose from the normal of mid teens into the 90's when my mets were found.   And believe it or not, it seems that my ca125 (marker for ovarian cancer) was what rose from 6-7 to almost 30.

What you want to do is find the markers that work best in showing your cancer's status and stick with those.

I agree with caryn, these markers help with treatment, but dont think for a moment they are indicative of a horrible change in your condition. There are a lot of other factors involved. Its all in conjunctive with other testing.
