So I saw the oncologist yesterday. She is part of the Moffit Caner Center here in Tampa.
She gave me the results of the SNB. Turns out there were microscopic traces in the lymph node. BooHoo. This bumps me up to Stage 2b. She told me it was not the end of the world and still very treatable. She even gave me a big long hug and a kiss on my cheek. Has anyone heard of any doctor doing that???? I was very surprised. Is that a sign of a good and understanding doctor?
Anyways, she told me I'll be getting chemo every 2 weeks. 8 rounds of AC and Taxol for a total of 4 months. Because this triple negative is so aggressive she wants me to do it before surgery so they can monitor me every 2 weeks when I have the chemo to make sure its doing its job. If not she can quickly switch me to something else.
After surgery I will have to heal and then 5.5 - 6 weeks of daily(5 days a week) radiation.
Is this a good approach in being aggressive? Is this what they call dose dense? Has anyone gone through something similar to this?

I forgot to mention...I'm also scheduled today and monday for a bone and ct scan and a muga scan for the heart.

Sounds like a very good plan to me.
There is something special about some oncologists and their staffs. They have no problem giving you a hug or offering a hand or caring stroke. It's not odd -- I make sure that I get a hug from all of my cancer professionals.

Lori had 6 rounds of Adriamyicin, Cytoxan and Taxotere every 3 weeks, and then rads. She did not have any node involvement, but her tumor was (they think) 5cm, and one behind the nipple area. They said this was dose dense. Aggressive chemo. Lori was stage11A. Lori had a mastectomy before chemo.
Lori's breast surgeon told her that most women are cured of this disease, and he told her that she was not going to die.
I am a hugger, and it has been said that we all need 5 hugs a day just for "maintenance". Be glad that you onc is a hugger.
 Hugs..seeeee, even in a sign off..........
