My good friend will be starting chemo tues. It was supposed to start last fri. but dr. held it off to see if she is eligible for any trials. Her BRCA testing hadn't come back. We still do not know the results but will by the appt. tues. He mentioned a study at Duke and we found 3 tbnc studies at dana farber. this is a recurrence with mets to the spine and cervix. She had a mastectomy 4 years ago with 11 lymph node involvement. At that time the CA was ER+. It is now tnbc. It is grade 3 and obviously stage 4.  We are in the new england area, so farber study would be preferable, though we'd like her medical oncologist, who is very committed to her to be involved.
He is suggesting Paclitaxel, carboplatin and avastin (if he can get compassionate care for her). Has anyone had experience with these together. he would 1st start the 1st 2 and the avastin if care is granted. Thanks for any and all help..diane
