I had read this before and am still unsure what it means. How do I know if I'm basal? And, aren't most triple negs grade 3? Are there triple negs who are NOT grade 3?
What is the most aggressive treatments for triple negs? I did AC followed by 12 weekly Taxol and 33 rads. I had a 2 cm tumor and no node involvement. I fought for the Taxol (this was in Oct of 2005) because of the triple neg and I got it even though I was told I didn't need it. Now they are saying that Taxol is THE drug for triple negs. I was called the pioneer for Taxol for triple negs!

Tripaneg, I am no expert by any means but it is my understanding from reading that most tiple negs are grade 3.
I had Adriamycin, Cytoxan and Taxol in 2003 and now I am on Taxotere.
I've found some links for you discussing basal types.  You may have already read these but in just in case I'll throw them in.  I knew mine was basal as it stated so on my BRCA test results which were posiive.

Good for you for fighting for the Taxol, we are our best advocate and need to participate in our treatments.

Hi all, My IDC was grade 2, my Onc said that was not really a tool to decide treatment as some grade 2's act like grade 3 and some act like grade 1 so ??? confuses me a bit.

I had 1.4cm IDC and 5cm DCIS 1 node and 1mm micro in another and
did 6 x FEC - ? research seems to change every day re best tx for triple neg and I think it mostly depends on the Onc.

I have no idea about the basal either so will def do some reading above and ask next time I see surgeon or Onc.

Thanks for the links.
