Hi

Just wonder if anyone has done genetic testing for identifying molecular pathways that cause the cancer grows such as ALK, EgFR, and PIK3CA?

I just have one ordered last week after liver biopsy. I was diagnosed at stage 4 with liver mets while on radiation. My standard treatment was ACT neoadjuvant then bilateral mastectomy and 33 radiation.

Now waiting the result to see what mutations they found and see if there's targeted therapy in addition to chemo. Please kindly let me know if you have experience with this and if that somehow help in your treatment. Thank you

I believe there have been several members that have had these types of tests and hopefully they'll be along shortly and share their experience.  In order to get into some of the clinical trials that are testing a drug for a certain pathway, eg. PIK3CA, the person will be tested first to see if they qualify.
