Ay suggestions for extreme itching? All the anti-itch products I can find have alcohol somewhere in their ingredients, which is extremely painful with my broken skin.

Aloe Vera worked for me and a losely filled ice pack. I never really cared for the silver ointment that the doctor suggested but it did cut down on the itch. Infection is a concern so if you do break the skin a tube of Bacitracin on hand is a good thing. Good to remember it's really not a topical itch but the radiation starts under and works its way to surface. Cold clothes help too.

I had a friend give me their huge, beloved Aloe plant (which we still have). The leaves were big and I'd scrape the aloe gel from the leaves and apply them to the radiation area. Nothing calmed the symptoms better than the actual plant. I had bought "pure aloe vera gel" at the store, but it didn't soothe as well as the plant.

I had my doctor prescribe a stronger cortisone cream than what you can get in the store. I found that was the only thing that worked for radiation itching...
