Hi beautiful warriors,
I just had my second round of AC this past Wednesday. No symptoms at all. I am starting to doubt if they gave me chemo.... am I the only one here?
I know they gave me a lot of meds on Wednesday to help with nausea and fatigue but I think that by now the effect would die down, right?
Thoughts?

Hi Gisela,
I think you should be counting your blessings that your body is tolerating the A/C so well. I hope it continues! Stay strong!
Your picture is beautiful...have you started losing your hair?

Hi Gisela,

I second what AmyL said, count your blessings that your body is tolerating it so well. I found the first chemo the easiest and each sequential one was a bit more tiring. Sometimes I had to have a 24 hour nap, but A/C was much easier for me. Taxol was another story.

I can imagine that if you are feeling no effects that you'd be wondering whether you'd had chemo or not. Just enjoy every day that you are feeling so well, but be sure to take care of yourself too. Absolutely gorgeous picture.

Have a wonderful day. Hugs
Jacklin

Hi beautiful warriors,
I am starting to feel a bit of nausea but I think it has to do with a really greasy meal I just made....
Yes, I am losing all my hair. That pic of me you guys like, (thanks for the compliments) is from yesterday. My hair was way longer but I guess now I decided short hair is the way to go even after this journey is over and my hair grows back. Way easier plus who when I could rock pixie hair!
I have heard from other beautiful worriers that Taxol can be harder than AC. I have a feeling that will be the case for me. Plus it is given weekly vs every two weeks so there won't be any time to recover.  Will see.
Hope you all are having a wonderful weekend.
Take care
Gisela

Dear Gisele,

That is great news that your symptoms are nonexistent/mild!  As you probably know, there is supposed to be no correlation between the extent that you feel side effects and the extent that the chemo is working, so it is definitely better to not feel them!

I did my Taxol first (with carboplatin and possibly veliparib), followed by AC, so my experience was different.  But I was grateful that I was able to continue exercising throughout (walking 7-10 miles daily, but I stopped running because my lower red blood counts made me short-of-breath).  I really think the exercise helped, in lots of ways.

I will keep my fingers crossed that you continue to stay well (and hopefully it was just your meal that made you queasy).  I'm sorry you are losing your hair now; that was difficult for me.  But it sure makes showering/getting ready really quick!  Maybe someday I'll miss  being able to just throw on my hair/wig (but then again, maybe not)!

Tulips

PS I think the typo "beautiful worriers" is pretty funny and apt    ;-)

Morning Giesela, you are quite the comedienne there girlfriend!!

Don't worry about possible side effects in advance. i know that I spent a lot of time being concerned about having an allergic reaction to taxol because I do have anaphylactic allergies, but it never happened. Tulips is right, exercise is wonderful, even if it means a 5-minute walk every day. I found that getting outside really helped me and so I tried to do it every day. The fresh (and cold) air was wonderful in my face and got me out of the house so I didn't feel as house-bound.

Regarding hair - prior to being diagnosed, my naturally blonde hair was almost at my elbows. I cut it so that I could donate as much as possible and wore a punk rocker cut for about 3 weeks until it fell out. Once I cut it, I like having short hair and like you, am thinking about keeping it short once it's regrown. Now, it's starting to come back in, but nobody can see it because it's still quite short and blonde, so it's hard to see it. Honestly, it doesn't bother me to be bald now, I"m used to it and I like the speed of coming out of the shower and going out the door. No worries with shampoo and conditioner, no hair dryer, and while I do have a wig, I hardly ever wear it because it doesn't feel good on my head.

Since your taxol is being administered every week, the dose will be lower and you may not have any side effects at all!! I'm going to keep my fingers crossed and pray that you don't have any.

Hope that greasy meal was the cause of your nauseous stomach!

Have a super day today,
Jacklin
