At 8:26pm on March 26th, 2014, Lenora, passed from this life. She was not TNBC, but fought metastatic breast cancer for over 2 years. I was present for the 6 hours from the time they, with her consent, removed the oxygen, until she passed. It was a difficult 6 hours as she would rouse from unconsciousness and speak about needing to leave, but her body would not let her go. Her best friend, Barb, a home health nurse, did magnificently as she cared for her, keeping her medicated and comfortable. Lenora's children and husband stayed by her side and a few invited friends took turns sitting by her as well. A few minutes before she passed, she opened her eyes, everyone said goodbye, her husband and children hugged her and she left this world knowing that she was loved here on earth….

Dear jadesloge,
All my sympathy to you and the family of Lenora.  We have triple negative, but in my volunteering I have seen that metastatic breast cancer, of all types, take our beautiful ladies from this life.  Thank you for sharing Lenora with us and especially the home health nurse who fought so valiantly to make her homegoing a more comfortable experience.  How blessed a family is to be able to say goodby and feel that the loved one felt their love.

Love and God Bless,
Lillie

Jade, sorry for your loss. It's difficult to watch I loved one slipping away, I know. She was at peace knowing everyone loved her dearly. Take time for yourself to heal.
God Bless, Melissa
