I am two months out from 6 rounds of taxotere and cytoxan. Has anyone experienced muscle pain and weakness? If so, how long did it last? How about weight gain? How long did it take to lose it?

Hi,
Muscle pain and weakness can last for awhile.  I don't think I was back to normal for about a year.  I finished chemo in August, went for a follow up 3 months later, and was so concerned about achy, heavy legs that my oncologist ordered a bone scan just to be sure.  I did not gain weight during chemo.  Afterward, my radiation oncologist encouraged me to start walking.  She said just start with 5 minutes if that's all you can do, but add a minute every day or so.  This has worked well for me and the news I hear now about exercising after cancer treatment sounds encouraging.  Congrats on finishing chemo!

I am 6 weeks out from 6 rounds of taxotere and cytoxin and just now starting to see some relief from the muscle pain and weakness. I can now walk upstairs without having to stop halfway. I did gain some weight, about 10 lbs, but I was having some leg swelling and some of it was water weight. I've lost a few pounds, and hope to continue now that I can walk more.
