I started posting here when I started having trouble with chemo so I felt it appropriate that I finish where I am at in my journey.

I had a lumpectomy on 10/16. They took out 4 nodes. 3 were planned originally. I didn't know my node status going in and never had a sent node biopsy since they just rushed me to chemo first to shrink my tumor since it was the nature of the beast.

To make this short so ya'll don't get bored of the 4 taken 2 were suspicious but none turned out to be cancerous praise the lord.

I am currently waiting on my final pathology and meeting with my surgeon for my post op appt on Monday. MY scars are healing nicely although my armipit still hurts a little.

I am working on getting on the trial for the neauvax vaccine. I just gave blood this week. I will start radiation for 6 weeks.  Although I cannot say I am cancer free right now I am happy to have clear nodes and hopefully I had clean margins.

So Monday is a big day for me again as I learn my final prognosis and find out if i can get in the trial.

Yes I will fight this cancer if it comes back or tries to come back.  This is just the start of my recovery hopefully and I still have radiation but I can already see my hair coming in very slowly.

I will post more when I find out.

I pray every night for every woman that still has to go through this battle.  We are warriors and never give up.

Hi, Tracy,
So glad to hear that your surgery went well and that you are ready for radiation.  I think you will find that the going gets a little easier from here on out.  I hope you get nothing but good news when you meet with your surgeon on Monday!

Hi Tracy
Good to know you are recovering well from surgery and hoping for the best outcome on your path report.
I am interested in the Neuvax vaccine as well but the inclusion criteria indicated that it is for node positive disease.  From what you posted it didn't sound like you are node positive. Are they making an exception?
