Aldo, Sorry to hear that your wife and your family are facing this cancer diagnosis. To me some of the best things are simple as you are here already. Be her advocate, research for her, be there when she wants to cry or scream. Follow her lead, if she feels well enough to perform her daily routine let her. There will be good days and not so good and that's normal. I know for me at I needed to keep my daily routine going, work, cooking, shopping cleaning etc. It was important to me to feel normalcy to some extent in my household. Obviously everyone is different so take this one day at a time.
As far as being prepared have your list of questions going for her oncologist. I had a binder with all my info in it, reports, phone numbers, treatment info, questions basically anything that was involved in my care. It helped me feel more organized and in control.
Yes her body will be considered compromised but chemo but that will be monitored by her labs with treatment. There is no way of telling yet how her numbers will look but that can also change along the way. Lots of handwashing of course and the obvious like avoiding close contact in some situations. There are many tips for different side effects and your doctor typically knows all the tricks.
As you probably noticed this site has lots of good info but the forum has been quiet lately. I do pop in here and there but have found a site that is very active daily. Feel free to send me a message or post again with any questions.
Sending positive vibes and strength your way.
