I thought Zometa was only for bone metastasis. Surely, after taxol becomes ineffective, there would be another chemo IN ADDITION to Zometa.
Do I understand that you have been on Taxol for mets, but MDA is recommending more low dose Taxol when it recurs? It seems that recurrence after tx with Taxol would indicate it's time for a different drug? I'm new to mets myself, so I could certainly be wrong, I just thought that's how it works.
As for turmeric, I took it (as curcumin) during my radiation in 2005 because it was supposed to alleviate burning. It worked for me. I have heard of its use in cancer therapy, but I don't have specifics. I remember that University of Rochester was doing some work back in 2005. There is a research document around
http://bcwatchdigest.evidencewatch.com/ that discusses curcumin as an mTOR inhibitor. This is on page 13 of the newsletter. What this may actually mean to us right now is hard to guess.
