I am almost 10 years out of treatment for triple negative BC (and am BRCA-1 positive). I had ACT chemo and about 12 reconstruction surgeries (double mastectomy, many infections, tram flap surgery, implants put in and then removed, plus fat transfer which is the current breasts I have now). I have had two surgeries within 8 months to removed "hot" lymph notes in my pelvic region and have had many relatives pass away at my age (54) of either breast or ovarian cancer.
I am trying to find resources on what I should be looking for if any cancer returns (ie: BC, ovarian, lymphoma, etc.). My care team is very vague about what I should be looking for in terms of reoccurrence because I have so many symptoms. My doctors (oncologist, GP, endocrinologist, GI and hematologist) just tell me that I am lucky to he here and they aren't sure what is happening. My body hurts extensively (GI, joints, neuropathy, insomnia, lymphatic issues, pain in my underarm lymph nodes, lung nodule, etc.) and am trying to get help from pain management. I quit my full-time job for part-time recently to see if less stress helps and it has not. Maybe I am expecting too much for my doctors to help me but everyone just pushes me on to someone else. Does anyone have any resources who can help me as far as resources on what my care team should be looking for? (I feel like I'm the only one concerned about it but my health keeps breaking down).
Thank you!
