It is with deep sadness, and through many tears, that I am writing to let you know that our TNBC family has suffered another devastating loss. Barbara Hill who posted as "Barbi" in the forums passed away last Wednesday, February 8, 2012. Here is a link to her obituary:

Susan and I had the honor and privledge of meeting Barbara, first through this site, and then in person. We often met Barbara for brunch during the wait between labs and infusion on our many trips to Vanderbilt where Barbara and Susan were patients.

Barbara was a beautiful person, both inside and out, and her grace and courage were an inspiration to us. As everyone here knows, chemo is a dreadful experience, but Susan's was made much easier by Barbara's cheerful demeanor and uplifting spirit that never failed to put a smile on our faces and give us comfort during such a stressful time.

Thank you, Barbara! Our lives are better because you were with us.

Martin

Dear Martin,

I know how deep your and Susan’s relationship with Barbara was. I am so very sorry for your loss and of course for Barbara’s family.

Again, what is so very remarkable to me about this TNBC family of ours are the women who, while struggling, still reach out to help others. no matter what chemo protocol failed her Barbi generously shared her experiences with us, remaining upbeat as the battle raged on and helping others through their treatment.

Barbi was one of those women and she shall be sorely missed.

Sweet Barbi, may your rest in peace and thank you for your graciousness, generosity and spunk

warmly,

Steve

p.s.

Martin, you have been a gem for this site, as well. You have chosen to participate and help others with your insightful posts as Susan fights her battle. I so admire you.

Another terrible loss of one so young to this awful disease. Barbi was such a inspiring person. May God be with her family and especially with her 2 children. Wrap your loving arms around them, Father and hold them close to you.

Barbi- You were such a strong woman with an amazing spirit. You reached out to help me and others whenever you could.   I'm saddened to lose your abundant heart and soul on this forum.  I'll never forget you, your wisdom, your genuine concern for those of us here, as you bravely fought your own battle.  My heart goes out to your family.  Martin thank you for letting us know.  I'll deeply miss our friend.

through tears,
Mindy

Barbi's children, Katie and Jacob and Barbi's family and friends and the TNBC family,

Sincere sympathy on your great loss.
Believe that caring, loving and strong Barbi will still be "hugging" you with her
care, love and strength.

Caring Barbi prepared us on the forum for the non-physical "hugs" as she sent and
received cyber hugs on the forums!

We now say to Barbi, what she had posted on another tribute forum for someone else.....
        Rest in Eternal Peace.

With caring thoughts,

Grateful for today.........Judy
