Your Rights

Hi Ladies,

I wanted to share something that happened today to my sister.

She went for her mammogram today. When she was finished she asked the tech for a consent form so that she could have a copy mailed to her as she has always done.  The tech told her "we can't do that, we would get in trouble", my sister laid into her and reminded her about the HIPPA laws and off she scurried to her supervisor.

The supervisor came back and said " we don't mail them out anymore to patients because the test results have too many big words in them".

My sister was furious and will definitely get her records.  Been attending this hospital all her life plus worked in medical records for over 15 yrs, yep she'll get those results.

Ladies do not let this happen to you.   I was shocked.

Now I will go get a towel and pull a 'Connie' so that I can work this out in this hard head of mine and watch out for those "big words".
