Dear dear Helen, she had a great friend in you and I just know it must seem as though the world has paused on its axis just about now for you and her loved ones. We should all be so lucky as to know a friend such as this. Mainy

Yes, so true!  Elaine lived a colorful life and will forever be in my heart!

Her husband, daughter and step-daughter left yesterday for Labrador City where they will have another service for the many friends she made there.  She will be interred in Gander, NL with her son, mom and dad in the Spring.

Thanks ladies & Steve for your most kind words for another sister who has lost the battle.  She only had a little less than three years but we made sure she did what she wanted right up to the end....Bless your soul my friend, may you rest in peace until we meet again.  Love h.

Thanks Pam, Mainy and Donna, Steve, Chloesmom, & Denise!

I find it so hard to think about, I know she was very sick but it seems she went so fast.  A couple of nights before she passed we were sitting outside at the camp fire (that we all love so much) and chatting about the good old days.  She stayed out for about a half hour and then she was ready to put her head down again.  We have many funny stories that we experienced over the years and hold a lifetime of memories for each of us.  Our thing was our children and grandchildren, they were our lives....I guess that is why we stayed such good pals for so many years, we were like minded.

Time they say heals all wounds, well I laid low the past few days but today now, I am feeling like I can face the world again.  (Somewhat)  How are you my dear friends?  I keep missing you all on line.  I emailed to let the gals know that I would like to blog about caregiving.  I feel I had quite enough practice at that and they felt it was a good topic.  In any case, I am here in cool NS waiting for snow to fly over the next couple of months .....and going back to work 4th of October. So wish me luck...
Nice to see you on line and thanks my dears, be well,
Helen in NS

Helen:  I'm so sorry to hear about Elaine.  Just want you to know that I am thinking of you tonight.   I'm hoping that the many happy memories you have with Elaine bring you comfort tonight and in the future.

Thank you Bonnie!  This is just a part of life, one part we never want to see coming but none of us will get out of this world alive, so we better make the best of it.

I can see by your signature that your daughter (22) has mets to her lung and nodes??? Oh my, now that is hard to take my dear.  At least us oldies have had our share of life's ups and downs, but at 22, she has just begun to live.  I will keep Ashley in my prayers that the Iniparib will do the trick and get rid of those mets.

Keep the faith and please know that you and Ashley will never be alone as long as we are here.  Keep us posted on Ashley's progress and yours...It is difficult to feel helpless in all this, but we each have our path and all we can do is be there for each other.

Thanks for reaching out to me in all your worries.  Bless you both, Helen in NS

Dearest Friend Helen and Her Dearest Friend Elaine,
Tears are streaming down our faces today as we all realize that another wonderful
lady has had to face this awful disease and it has taken her life.  It is not possible
with all the research that we still have no cure.
Thank you for posting information so that in our little way we have come to know
her, too.  God bless and keep Elaine, Helen, and our little group of TNBCs.

Peace,
Hummie
