My sister is triple neg.  She developed Congestive Heart Failure at age 45.  She has a dry constant cough and will cough until she throws up.  She is permanently disabled.  What or how can she be helped financially?

Thorton,

I am so sorry to hear what this da**** cancer and chemo has done to your sister, and can you tell us what chemo she had. They say over and over that the Adriamycin causes CHF, and our dear Pam is living proof of this along with probably millions of others dx with cancer. If we think that the drug companies will take responsiblity for this, we had better think again.

Has you sister been checked out by her doctor and has she had any tests, such as MRI's, etc.?

Not sure if any of these links will help, as I have not read through all of them. I give these to all the new members, and one thing your sister wants to look into, is applying for SSI. They will probably deny it over and over but you just keep applying over and over. I know that Pam...trip2...will have many more articles for you when she reads your post.
Sincerely,
Nancy

My sister also developed a dry cough and it was later determined that the cough is from lung cancer. She was immediately put on meds that have controlled the coughing considerably. Sadly, it is still lung cancer.

Thorton it is nice to meet you and I'm so sorry to hear your sister is having such a bad time of it.  When did she go thru her treatments and what chemo did she have?

I did get diagnosed with CHF in 07.  At that time I was on Taxotere but it was my second diagnosis.
The first time I was diagnosed I had Adriamycin and my heart doc says that is exactly where I got CHF.

So I have been hospitalized a couple of times and it is an ongoing lousy problem.  I have been put on Lasix and Potassium but I still continue to hold fluid which is not good.

Your sister needs to see a doctor if she hasn't already and get a check-up, maybe a test or two to see exactly what they are dealing with.

I see Nancy has given you many links for assistance but I will look for you too.  If she is working she can apply for disability.  Or as Nancy said she can apply for ssi to get some help.

I hope everything works out for her, let us know, will you?

This page may have something she can use  http://www.cancer.gov/search/results.aspx
