My best friend went through chemo two years ago for tnbc. She just had a four month check yesterday and said that her numbers were up 3 points and she would know more tomorrow. I want to know what this likely means. Does anyone know? I am very scared for her.

Tajia,
When you say her numbers are up, are you referring to tumor markers? If so a jump of 3 points is very small. Most oncologists are looking for a dramatic trend, for example the number was 13 and now it's 125 or 250. My first onc did tumor markers and they easily fluctuated by ten points. My new onc doesn't do them as he doesn't think they are reliable. If the points aren't referring to tumor markers, please explain in more detail and maybe we can help you. Donna
