Topic: TNBC Stage one women Posted: Jan 27 2011 at 2:41pm |
Hi all
I was recently diagnosed with Stage 1 TNBC and might have to undergo chemotherapy. I would love to talk to some Stage 1 TNBC survivors, especially if they are in the Caribbean.
Thanks
Karen

Karen,
I am a Stage I survivor and am happy to chat (I WISH I was from the Caribbean, especially this time of year!). Can you tell us more about your diagnosis and what treatment options have been recommended?
Sorry you had reason to come here, but glad that you found us. There are many excellent resources and wise, kind people here that are happy to answer any questions.
Laura

Karen, Welcome to this forum. I visited Jamaica several years ago and had a wonderful time. At this time of the year in the States, I miss the warm temperatures of the islands. Can you tell us a little more about your diagnosis? What is the size of your tumor? Have you had surgery yet? There's so much information on this site. Please feel free to ask questions. Have you had a chance to read the brochure about TNBC? http://www.lbbc.org/Understanding-Breast-Cancer/Guides-to-Understanding-Breast-Cancer/Guide-to-Understanding-Triple-Negative-Breast-CancerDonna

I was diagnosed with Stage 1 TNBC 3/10. My tumor was multifocal; largest foci was 1.3 cm. I had a lumpectomy 4/10; re-excision due to narrow margin 5/10. Zero of 4 nodes involved. My chemotherapy was 4 rounds of Taxotere/Cytoxan every 21 days. Then I had 6 weeks of radiation, 25 whole breast and 5 targeted. I finished treatment last October. This is my first post, although I read them a lot. I worry a lot about recurrence since there is no targeted treatment for TNBC.

Hi Karen,
I am a stage I. I did not have chemo but I had bilateral mastectomies twice (long story, they screwed up the first time). First time I had expanders exchanged for silicone. Then they had to redo it and I had expanders again with latissimus dorsi flaps. then exchanged out for silicone again.
Anything I can do, please shout. I only ask for a ticket to visit in exchange! Just kidding, I hate winter and would love to be in the caribbean. Seriously, anything you need, just ask. We are here for you.
XO
