I am from Los Angeles and my daughter who was dx with TNBC lives in NY.
Dawn, I agree, I think it would be marvelous to have a get-together.
What would really make it special I think would be a couple of guest TNBC specialists who can talk to us.
I think there is a yearly scientific meeting not open to the public that TNBCF has...if we could be included that would be super and then we can have social time as well..
I just met with some folks from the Bay area last weekend and although the group was small it was wonderful to meet everyone...
Maybe as a start we can post some informal get together ideas as Kirby and Suzanne do in the Bay area?
all the best,
Steve

Hi, all. I'm a Berkeley semi-hippie, 45 years old, with a husband, two
daughters ages 9 and 12, and two very silly looking 'stretch terrier'
dogs, Merkin and Dingleberry.

Everyone is always welcome to join us at our San Francisco Bay Area luncheons. We tentatively plan to meet in San Francisco on Sunday, Nov. 22. We also might be having an overnight "slumber party" in the spring on the Pacific coast at Rena's house. Stay tuned for details (and thanks to Rena for the offer to share her home)!

Hi Everyone, I am Patty from Massachusetts, I do know one other person around here who is triple negative. Her initial dx was about a year before me and so far for her she is fine. I am just about to enter my 3rd treatment since my reaccurance in dec 08. I started with carboplatin and avastin which worked jan through june, then started a clinical trial gemcitibine and sorafenib (blind not sure if i got it). That did not work at all. Not sure what my next step will be.

Suzanne, a slumber party? I LOVE slumber parties! Can we dance and make fruity drinks and eat chocolate? I have a friend who has a slumber party every year. Her husband and children disappear, and we girlfriends arrive with our pajamas, sushi, and serious alcohol. Big fun! Love, Denise

I don't live in the bay area, but I do know how to get there! Sleep over sounds fun! Haven't been to one since I was 12. Currently live in Southern Cal., about an hour or so from LA ( traffic permitting) and 30 minutes from Santa Barbara, Ca. The best of both worlds, San Buenaventura (Ventura) Californa!.

Kate, I'm adding you to the Bay Area email list. Welcome to the group!
Denise, you can do whatever you want at the sleepover...as long as it's legal. Chocolates and fruity drinks sound yummy! This will be such fun. Would anyone else like to rent a kayak and go on a short sunset coast tour? Or how about whale watching?
Musette green, you, of course are invited. PM your email address and I'll add you to our list.

I wish I lived in the Bay Area, what fun! I only know 3 other people in the St. Louis, MO area that area TNBC. It would be wonderful if we could have some sort of local support group.
Maybe this has been discussed before, but could this forum have a new section about local area events, meetings where members can post about upcoming events?

Hi ladies,
I am an aussie living in Alberta! Was Dx a few months after moving here (and no I dont blame the move ). I have finished chemo (also had no side effects - except the hair falling out). My friends all tell me to act sick, like they knew I was doing chemo but couldn't get over the energy and appetite I had (I loved curries - couldnt get enough!).
I meet with the support group here - no one has TNBC but all are lovely ladies who share their experiences and support. It is good to be able to meet them - and hope to meet a TNBC soon :)
Cheers Debs

Maybe we could have a remote, distributed slumber party. Many local slumber parties on the same night, with pictures and descriptions posted after the fact. Or we could teleconference in! Ichat? love, Denise

I don't think there is one here in Mansfield. Starting one ourselves seems the best answer. I like the slumber party idea too.

Used to live at Fort Loramie Lake, Ohio. Born in Troy, Ohio. I am missing the change of leaves this time of year. Also the Oktoberfest in Minster.
But, tis a beautiful day in Sarasota, Florida with no humidity and sunny 74.
