Anyone used the Lindi Skin Care Products for radiation? My skin seems to have already taken a beating by the chemo and thought I would research some treatment to start healing before and during radiation.

please see if your oncologist can refer you to a nearby palliative care center that is part of a cancer center....their medical experts should be able to make suggestions. thinking of you. how much time elapsed between your surgery and RT? warmly, Steve

Haven't started Rads yet. Only 11 days out from surgery. I meet with the Rad Oncologist on August 1st to find out next phase. It is easier if I just think of this as phases. Glad to be winning the war though. :) Barb

Hi Barb,
So glad to hear you're doing well since your surgery! When I had radiation they had me use Calendula first aid cream 2x a day. Might be worth asking your RO about, the more information the better. I know they sell it on Amazon and it's cheaper to get it online than in the local stores. Hope this helps. Linda |

Hi Barb -
I used a combination of Miaderm and Aquafor. Miaderm is highly recommended by radiation oncologists and was formulated by a radiation specialist. Aquafor is thick and "gunky" and really coats the skin. I wore a lot of old loose fitting t-shirts while going through radiation and piled on both creams many times a day and had no major issues (just a sunburn - no peeling!). I also had the doctor prescribe a stronger cortisone cream to control the itching (like a typical sunburn, your skin will itch and sometimes it was really uncomfortable). I found the over the counter creams not strong enough, but the prescription cortisone was great. I also avoided wearing bras during this time. I am not that big busted, so it was not a problem for me. Bras can rub the area, and make it worse. Good luck to you - you are almost at the finish line! Lisa
