Hi Everyone,

I was diagnosed and treated (lumpectomy, Chemo and radiation) in 2008 for triple negative breast cancer in the right breast.  Exactly 2 yrs later, today my mammogram show a lump in the left breast.  I saw my Oncologist today and will seek a biospy soon.  I plan this time to go to MD Anderson for evaluation and whatever will be needed to go through this process again if warranted.  I ask for my fellow Triple Negatives for prayers.  I will keep you posted.

Hi, AKA04.  So sorry about the new lump - but don't panic.  It may not be cancer.   Either way, I would be freaked out too.    Were you tested for BRCA1,2?    If it is cancer, it is a new primary and not a recurrence or metastasis.  That is a good thing.
Good luck, and let us know what you find out.
Love,
Denise

Dear AKA04,

you shall be in my prayers..I am sorry you are going through this..

I think going to MD Anderson is an excellent choice.

I also second the idea of seeing a Certified Genetic Counselor...If you will be going to MDA soon I would ask your MDA oncologist to try to get you an appointment with Dr. Banu Arun, a breast cancer expert and also head of their Clinical Genetics Dept. It is generally hard to see her right away. There is also a Kaylene Ready, a Certified Genetic Counselor, there. She is very knowledgeable/nice.

I just spent a bunch of time at MDA and know several Breast Medical Oncologists there...If you would like please send me a PM and I will try to help you, if you wish..

Also, try to stay in the Rotary House house. It is attached to the hospital and is very convenient..

all the best,

Steve

p.s. I just sent you a PM when you were not sure about how to post...you can reply to that if you wish..

Dear AKA04:
So sorry to hear you are going through the worries again! Please know that we are here for you in any way you need, but most of all through our prayers from sisters and brothers who have been there and know what a burden it is to have to deal with more issues about our health.  I feel that because we have been diagnosed in the first place, that the worry will be ongoing throughout the rest of our lives, but this time, we know in our hearts that we are definately not alone and that is a gift that is sent by the Grace of God!  We are here to help in any way we can.  Keep us up to date and may this note find you in a positive spirit of mind and soul.
Your sister in NS, Helen Hug

Hello,

So sorry that they found a lump in the other breast.  It may be nothing, so try not to worry too much until you get it biopsied.  Please let us know what you find out.  We're here for you.

If it is cancer, I have found that molecular profiling gave my oncologist and I a lot to think about regarding treatment. Not sure about your insurance and whether they will cover it, but worth the information. Gives you information on what drugs may be ineffective or more effective on the cells. Will definitely pray for you, for peace and assurance that He is in control and will provide you with all that you need to fight the battle.
