I found this from Tia's first post on this forum introducing herself.

Oh Joy I have so many buddies here!

I was diagnosed in 2/2006 Pink%20Ribbonand have had the lumps, bumps, lymphs, skin, flesh and whatever removed ... all in various stages of my cancer returning.  I thought by cutting it out, that alone would buy me time.  So far, so good.  I'm still here!  My first doctor that did a lumpectomy actually cut the cancer out and left a hole in my breast!  I didn't find out until the bandage began to come off and the doctor told me to just wash myself out with the water from the shower!  You can imagine the shock and horror I went through when I first saw this hole in my breast!  I was mortified!  The surgeon said...it was protocol...since then I have learned that the word Protocol is widely used in a various amount of ways. I was also told that the margins were not clear and had to return to the hospital for more surgery...I did, and out came my lymphnodes! That entire summer I held my hand over my boo boo and prayed the June bugs wouldn't crawl into my body!  Just to think of it now creeps me out.  Oh, yes, I did find myslef another surgeon who closed up that 'hole' by giving me a partial or a wide resection.  I was very grateful to say the least.

I did go through chemotherapy with a 'coctail' of different agents that nearly killed me.  Losing my hair was within 3 days then came the chemo burns on my face, hands and bottoms of my feet,(I couldn't hold anything or walk! Then chemo brain, bumps in my mouth all down my throat, drooling from not being able to swallow, constipation, feeling cold all the time, then  my body temperature soared exceeding what was normal, not being able to feel my feet (neuropathy)and hands, passing out etc.  Need I say more. I have had my share of that stuff for a while! And it all didn't seem to work!

Nevertheless, I am here and grateful to be alive.  I did do one thing that I think is a definate plus...during chemo I could only eat Macrobiotically and now I am a vegetarian Ying%20Yang...nothing with eyes, no dairy, no sugar.  Yes, it is not easy to feel as if I'm in 'normal mode' with the rest of society especilly during the holidays and going out to dinner but I am alive and that is what matters most.

For some odd reason, I always was able to tell the doctors where my cancer was.  I could actually feel it inside.  Like little pac men eating away at me!  Am I psycho you ask?  lol probably but at least my doctor listened and put the sonogram where I pointed out the cancer was, and bingo, there was my evil pac man!  I was wondering, has anyone else felt that?  Another question I have is, has anyone gone outside the routine of chemo to find another type of therapy?  I was just reading about some sort of Photo thing.
                 About Me:
Anyway, I live in the NE on Long Island.  I have one daughter and four grand children...two of the girls are twins!  Yes, my daughter is blessed.  I love dogs, horses and tennis. I ride a motorcycle when I feel  energetic and well. (I sleep for an entire day after if I do anything since my energy isn't up to what it use to be)  I am a member of the National & local member of the Ladies of Harley(LOH) as well as the Harley Owners Group (HOG).  The LOH led the Susan Komen's 'Race for the Cure' on our bikes in NYC every year which I am very proud of.  I love flowers, the beach, mellow music and there is nothing like friends that make the world a better place for me, especially right now!  I am grateful for everything I have.   I would love to meet all of you.  Please do drop me a line.  I would love to hear if you chose a different therapy and what your diet consists of.

Thank you for being here, all of you! Hug
Tia

I remember Tia and her positive spirit.  I am sad that she is gone and pray for her family to be comforted in their grief. So hard to lose these beautiful ladies to this wretched disease. May she be at peace now and totally healed.

Oh, that makes me so sad.  Tia was such a wonderful person.  Thanks Donna for letting us know, and for posting some of her writing.  That's a great idea.

Ugh ugh ugh ugh so much suffering. So much loss.  The wheel of living and dying, turning too fast.

I am so sorry to hear of the death of Diamond2Wheels. We all go through the unwanted surgeries and treatments, but it does sound as though Tia had a double dose of anxiety and pain in the way she was dealt with from the beginning; medically speaking.

My condolances to her daughter and grandchildren. May Tia Rest In Peace.

Love,
Lillie
