Topic: Done with AC Posted: Sep 30 2008 at 9:52am |

I disappeared for a while. I feel my power again.
I am done with AC!! Yippee!! I will tell you all,the first one was the worst. I had about 3 days were I lost my eyesight~everything was blurry, I walked and hurt like an 80 year old woman, and it was horrible. I will tell you that as the four treatments came and went, they got easier for me. I am not sure if my body was so pure, and the more AC I got my body got used to it or what. Maybe mentally I knew what to expect and for that I was able to "make" it easier. I am glad its over, because although it got easier, it was still horrible.
I am due to start Taxorete tomorrow. For the 12 weeks, weekly plan. I switched from TAxol, because with Taxorete there are less steroids. And the steroids are what are SOOOOhard for me. I was assured that there is no statistical difference between the two cocktails. Just, taxol has been around longer. I am excited to start, and scared that I won't have any good days in between treatments. As with AC, the every other week, I had a full week of fun "Heather" time.

Congratulations on finishing AC, I responded the same way as you first one was worse and each one got better. I did Taxol DD and didn't have any problems except some tingling in hands and feet. Hopefully you'll be one of the lucky ones and breeze right through the next 12 weeks.
Good luck tomorrow and let us know how you are doing. Hope you have 12 weeks of fun "Heather" time.

For me, the taxol was nothing compared to the AC!!! The chemo session went from 3hours to 5 hours, but I could live with that.
I would get tingly feet and hands, but not horribly so. Just enough to be annoying. And it made more hair fall out, the few strands that were left. And I was oh so tired. But I could deal with all that as long as I wasn't having the nausea.
Hope your experience is good!!
