Burning in throat from chemo?

 

Another questions for you.  Again I'm writing regarding my sister who was dx with tnbc (but prayerfully it is gone) :)  Anyway she had her first chemo treatment this past tuesday and now has a constant burning sensation in her throat.. has anyone else had this and what did you do?  Thanks!!  We have a call into her doctor but the answering service is there and said someone would call back....

I had burning in my throat after my 2nd chemo and the rest of them. In my situation it was blisters in my throat and mouth from the chemo. The onc prescribed a special  mouthwash made of benedryl, maalox, and lidocaine to swish and gargle with several times a day. It helped numb the pain a little. I`ve heard others here refer to it as "magic mouthwash".
