A close family friend was recently diagnosed with triple negative invasive ductal carcinoma. She
is 70 years old. When they did the biopsy, they found at
least one positive lymph node. The CT of the chest, abdomen and pelvis
were clear as was the MRI of the breast.
Her surgeon is highly
respected and the top choice for many people with whom we have spoken.
When our friend asked the surgeon when she would do the double mastectomy, she replied "soon", but the office called yesterday and said the
surgery will be the 19th...of December!
Is it normal to wait this long? She is not having any type of chemo or radiation prior to surgery.
Thanks for your help,
Julie
