I was diagnosed with breast cancer in August. Had lumpectomy and 8 nodes removed last week. Diagnosis: The predominance of the lesion is ductal carcinoma in situHowever, there is a focal area of invasive ductal carcinoma. This area is 4.2 mm.  Invasive carcinoma of no special type (ductal)
Grade 2. All margins negative for invasive carcinoma. TRIPLE NEGATIVE T1a.
I don’t know where to go next. Looking for oncologist w specialty in TNBC. I have an appt Oct 7 at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati but don’t know how much experience this doc has. I looked at doc profiles at The James cancer Hospital in Columbus Oh and found one doc that listed TNBC but cannot get appt until Nov 7. How should I proceed. Should I wait for Nov appt? Is there a way to get appt moved up?  TIA

Hi Tracy, Sorry that you find yourself here dealing with breast cancer. It's definitely a club nobody wants to join but we are drug in!

So I see you have an appointment with Oncologist on Friday and that's a good place to start. It's possible that the doctor will be able to get you in sooner by reaching out to the TNBC specialist. It's also possible your oncologist can collaborate care with the TNBC doc. I have been with my MO since initial diagnosis in 2016 but recently got a 2nd opinion with A TNBC specialist at Sloan Kettering. So together they are collaborating my treatment plan. Discuss your options with your MO on Friday and see where it leads.
I see you're in Ohio, would you consider going to The Cleveland Clinic? There is a wonderful member on here Steve who helps many women find a doctor. Perhaps he will see your post and have additional information. Also you can private message him, it's worth a shot.
I don't know if I helped at all but I most importantly wanted you to know you are not alone. Good vibes and best of luck with your appointment on Friday. Keep us posted.

Thank you,Andrea!
Your response was very helpful. I now have more questions to ask my MO on Friday. Cleveland seems a little too far. The cancer center at the James in Columbus is 90 min away and that sound’s doable. I would still like to talk with Steve. How do I pm?
Thanks again, Tracy
