It seems like most tnbc is grade 3. Is grade 1 or 2 less common? Just wondering because mine was a grade 2.

Sue,

You are correct, most TNBC is grade 3.  TNBC is fast growing so it's usually a grade 3 upon diagnosis.  With your grade 2, it's a better prognosis.

Tumor grades are usually classified as:

Grade 1. The tumor cells look the most like normal tissue and are slow-growing (well-differentiated).

Grade 2. The tumor cells fall somewhere in between grade 1 and grade 3 (moderately-differentiated).

Grade 3. The tumor cells look very abnormal and are fast-growing (poorly-differentiated).

DX IDC TNBC 6/09 age 49, Stage 1,Grade 3, 1.5cm,0/5Nodes,KI-67 48%,BRCA-,6/09bi-mx, recon, T/C X4(9/09)
11/10 Recur IM node, Gem,Carb,Iniparib 12/10,MRI NED 2/11,IMRT Radsx40,CT NED11/13,MRI NED3/15

Yes, Donna, thanks from me too.  I love and can understand the concise way you have described the different grades.  Mine was, as you say, cells looked very abnormal and were poorly-differentiated.  In fact, my biopsy report used those very words (except that the words were in French!)
