I am undergoing 12 weekly treatments of Taxol and Carboplatin.  I have 8 weeks behind me and 4 more to go.  I have not tolerated the chemo very well, but mainly digestive and nausea issues until this past week.  I have now developed a very large blood clot in my leg and I'm administering twice daily injections of blood thinner.  Has anyone else battled a dvt during chemotherapy?  Did your oncologist let you continue treatements or is this something that will delay chemo? I am uneasy about the blood clot because it runs down over half of my leg, and I'm short of breath doing normal tasks.  Thanks for your input if you've faced this and what the treatment and precautions were for it.

I have not visited this forum for a while, but thrombosis is a major problem(?), I am sure there are nurses here with support, if your doctors haven't already resolved your situation.

I developed an arm clot,  on the port side. Was then tested,  and diagnosed with Factor V, and treated for 5 years with warfarin (anticoagulant). Now on baby aspirin, 3x/week.

You might ask for testing for this common blood clotting disorder, as it may help determine your best treatment course.  It's genetic, so all my sibs were tested too.

Good luck,  11 year survivor!

I didn't have a blood clot, but my shortness of breath started both times when anemia set in. If your red blood cell count is low,it's probably from that.
