Hi Jean:
There are a few of our members who experienced brain mets and they are still here to let you know about their journey and I am sure someone will see your post and be right here for ya!

Is this for yourself, Jean?  If so, I am very sorry you will have to deal with this!  TN is such a difficult to deal with cancer, I will be so glad when they finally find something that works for us....

Hang in there girl, I am sure there will be more posts tomorrow!
Hugs, Helen in NS

Dear Jean,

unfortunately when breast cancer metastasizes quite often the sites are brain and lungs..

as Helen mentioned there are many here with brain mets..

some folks will start posting..you might go to the search function and put in brain mets as a topic and look in the metastases section..

we will be here for you..

all the best,

Steve

Dear jean mb,

please let us know if you have found the info you seek on the board..I will 'bumo' this post up every week or so in case no one responds...we have a lot more folks on the board now and sometimes certain posts get 'lost' and I don't want this to happen to your thread.

Also, I see that you were dx when you were 45 which should qualify you to have insurance pay for a BRCA test. Have you seen a Certified Genetic Counselor? The reason I am asking is that if you are BRCA+ it may open up some clinical trials using parp inhibitor drugs. That would be a decision for you to make with your oncologist but the BRCA+ status may help you get into a trial..

Please don't get me wrong...I am hoping you are BRCA- negative. Also the important can be important for your children...sorry to mention that but that is the way it is...again I hope you have tested negative and if you decide to test in the future that you will test negative.

good luck to you...

all the best,

Steve

Jean, at the top of the forum box on the left, click on TNBC Forums, then click on TNBC Recurrence/Metastasis Users, there you will find other members who have dealt with brain metastasis.

Hope you find the help you are needing, please ask, there are members here who can help.
