Hello ladies.  My name is Matt, and I am the Pink Warrior's loving hubby.  I am so terribly sorry to have to announce that my dearest Kimberly lost her fight this morning.  God called her home around 11:30 today.  She fought a very noble and valiant fight.  And she fought it all the way to the end.  I don't have the time to go into any details because I have to go get our precious daughter from day care and let her know the bad news.

I know you all are a very tight and supporting community.  I thank you for all your prayers in the past, in the future.  And I pray that each of you all that are effected by this devastating disease are able to find a course of treatment that works for you.  God Bless you all!

Dear Matt,

Thank you for taking the time to post. I am without words....they seem so inadequate. Your wife was a truly lovely woman. I hate to ask you to do this but could you be so kind, at some point, to go into the forum called Remembering Nancy Block Zenna-TNBC tributes and try to post some more biographical information there. I think we would all appreciate knowing more about your lovely bride.

She was not just a warrior for herself; she was for many here as well. She simply graced us with her presence. Even as she fought she reached out to help all of us. Truly remarkable.

It was an honor for me to get to know her a bit.

My heartfelt condolences to you and your family.

warmly,

Steve

Matt, knowing Kim's courage I am not surprised that she found a warrior soul mate in you. Your love gave her such strength and lasting courage and now I want you to know that though you are facing another journey to keep yourself and your young daughter and family upright in a world that must feel like it is spinning out of control, please please return here to visit as you are a part of our forever family and whatever we can do to give you support, we will stand by.

For you and your family, one of my favorites

                                   The Little Ship
I stood watching as the little ship sailed out to sea.
The setting sun tinted her white sails with a golden light and as she disappeared from sight
a voice at my side whispered. "She is gone"
But the sea was a narrow one.
On the farther shore a little band of friends had gathered to watch and wait in happy
   expection.
Suddenly they caught sight of the tiny sail and, at the very moment when my companion
   had whispered "She is gone"
A glad shout went up in joyous welcome. "Here she comes!"

I got to know Kim from this forum and we both had recurrences about the same time and shared so much going through treatment together.  I consider Kim my good friend.  I had the privilege and honor to meet Kim, Matt and their family.  Matt and Kim truly were a team and supported each other unconditionally.  Kim told me she found someone special in Matt and she was blessed.  I have to agree.  But I also believe Matt was equally blessed in finding a partner in Kim.  The first time we had lunch together Kim had made me this beautiful bracelet and also crafted the box it came in.  Kim was so talented and creative.

The last time I saw Kim was on December 9th when her and Matt joined us for lunch after one of Kim's treatments in St. Louis.  At that time, Kim was doing so well and responding to treatment.  I prayed that it would continue.  My heart has been so heavy today with Kim's passing.  I can't believe this beautiful person is gone from us.  I wish all of you could have met Kim.  She fought this with all she had to give.  She loved her husband and children so much.

Matt, you will always be part of our family.  Let us help you and your family if you need anything.  Bless you Matt for being a wonderful husband and father.

Donna

Matt:

I am literally sick to my stomach at reading this post.  Even when I clicked on it, I thought it was Kim telling us of another sister's passing - not that it was Kim that has left us.  Please know that we all are sincerely mourning the loss of your beloved, brave, compassionate and loving wife.  While I never had the pleasure of meeting her in person, and getting to know her personally, as Donna was fortunate to do, I feel as though I did know her personally.

Please know that my prayers and my condolences are being sent to you and the children, and all the many others that loved Kim too, both through this post and in spirit.  We all have been blessed having had Kim leave her footprints on our hearts.  God bless you.

Matt, I am just crushed.  Kim became a dear friend , first through this community and later through FB and phone calls.    I am crying here at my desk.  I am so very very sorry you lost your darling wife.  She tried so hard to stay on earth for you and the lovely daughter you created together.    What a completely hideous disease - I hate it so much.

I can only imagine what you are going through as you prepare to break the news to your sweet little girl.    She is very lucky to have you for a father.  I know you will continue to raise her with great love and help her remember Kim.

Our arms are around both of you, and Kim's spirit as well.

Love,
Denise

I am so very sorry to hear this awful news. I did not know Kim personally, but have read many of her posts and she was such a positive, kind woman.  Her personality came through her writing; she was so interested in others and how they were doing. I am so sorry for your loss.

Dear Matt,

Thank you for your post. Though I am at a loss for words to truly express the grief and sadness I feel, my heart and spirit is with Kim and you and your family. I will be forever grateful to have had the support and inspiration of your beautiful wife and yourself here on this site. She brought light and hope every time she was present or even with the mention of her name, and this light and hope will remain forever.

Love and Peace,
Sue

Dear all,

Denise (dmwolf) kindly started a tribute thread for Kim (Pink Warrior) in the Tribute section. Please use the following thread, Remembering Kimberly Clark (Pink Warrior) to express your feelings about this awful loss.

The Talk section is the most active on this forum and it is where most new to the forum go. The Tribute section was created so that those of us, new and old to the forum, who would like, can go and learn more about our departed family member, express remembrances and grieve. But many, new to the forum, may just want to be supported and encouraged.

Ideally, this thread, The Passing of Another TNBCer will become inactive. And that does not mean that we are not mourning Kim openly and publicly. Quite the contrary as you can see in the Tribute section. Just think it is best to do in the Tribute section. I hope everyone understands and that Denise and I have not offended anyone.

warmly,

Steve
